WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
In this workshop a thrifty mother of two under 4 years old will make daily painting feel exciting and do able. Teddi will walk you through what a day in the studio looks like for her and what cost-effective materials she uses so she doesn’t break the bank. With demos, exercises and time to paint yourselves you will hopefully leave feeling encouraged to take on the daily painting lifestyle.
BIO
Teddi Parker is a self taught artist living in Fort Collins, Colorado. She’s always had the creative itch and finally jumped on the daily painting bandwagon in 2014 after discovering Carol Marine and falling in love with the bold and loose brush stroke style. By reading artist blogs, color theory books, and implementing a daily habit of painting Teddi was able to get her own nature to come out and enjoy the process of painting again. She also has a heart to make original art affordable for the average Joe and encourage others who may doubt whether they can fit painting into their daily lives as well. CANCELLATION POLICY (NEW!)
If a month before the workshop we haven’t reached the minimum amount of students for the workshop to happen the workshop will be canceled and students will receive a full refund.
If you cancel less than 60 DAYS prior to the start of a workshop you will receive half of your registration fee, If you cancel less than 30 DAYS prior the start of the workshop you will not receive a refund. If you must cancel in this time frame we encourage you to find a replacement, and your replacement can reimburse you for your course fee. If you cancel before the 60-day limit you will receive a full refund minus 3% processing fee. Unfortunately, students who start a multiple-day class and are unable to attend any portion will not receive a refund.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY (NEW!)
Workshop will be canceled or rescheduled if inclement weather (hurricanes, snow storm, tropical storm, black ice, flooding, etc.) is on the forecast. No one should take any unnecessary risks. If the workshop is canceled, all registration money will be returned to the students minus 3% processing fee. The workshop will be rescheduled if possible for both parties.
SUPPLIES LIST
We are going to do the workshop with house paints! Here’s a list of what I use, bet you’ve never seen a list like this before ::wink::
Berh Sample sizes (~$3 each) flat sheen : 100 MPH, Ruby Ring, Tart Orange, English Daisy, Sassy Grass, Mermaid Sea, Southern Blue, True Turquoise, Mata Hari, Totally Black, and Pure White. I go to the hardware store (HomeDepot) and pull the color cards I want and they mix the small bottles for me.
Also, flat acrylic brushes in sizes 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12. I get mine at Michaels and the Artist’s Loft brand. You’re free to use what you’re comfortable with but make sure to pack the large ones too if you want to learn to loosen up.
Canvas panels either 6x6in or 8x8in.
Palette for mixing
Palette knife, mine’s plastic.
Pencil for sketching
Viewfinder
Spray bottle with misting option
Large piece of masonite board to stick the panel to on the easel. (i’ll bring the tape I use to stick them)
Container for water
Cloth towel for drying brushes
Fruit, vegetables, flowers, glasses, cups, vases, colored paper for grounds – we are painting small panels, so make sure objects/vases are on the smaller size – small jars like honey, olives, etc. work great.
Clip on light for casting shadows.
Or photo references in a square composition.
Painting Miles will provide a standing easel and a side table for palette per student.
