Together we will identify and release the fears that form creative blocks thus preventing us from allowing the painting process to happen intuitively and naturally. We will tap in to the unique, innate creative energy and flow that we each one have access to and allow ourselves to paint our stories in our abstract artwork. We will learn various techniques, color schemes, composition, mark-making, layering, texture, glazing and more to create a one-of-a-kind piece of your very own!
Janet Skates is an abstract artist and native Oklahoman. She has studied painting and lived in Japan, Singapore and The Netherlands, also obtaining her Masters levels in floral design. She is inspired by her travels, color, nature and music. She partners with Ahoy! Gallery in Spain for some of her larger pieces but handles all other work from her home studio. She teaches extensively throughout the United States and looks forward to international classes in 2020.
